Cameras and lenses are important but they are simply tools that enable a photographer to record their unique interpretation of light and the subjects it plays upon. If you devote your attention solely to equipment you may achieve technically competent photographs; whereas creative photography is the product of a photographer's imagination mixed with an appreciation of the colour, direction and quality of light.
I always stress the significance of a photographer's vision; however, I am still asked frequently about what equipment I use, so I have listed it below. You should not seek to duplicate this, but choose your equipment based on the type of photographs you wish to take. When it comes to equipment it is often a case that "less is more", consequently I select only what I need for each shoot - carry too much gear and you will very likely suffer from decision making fatigue about what to use!
The Nikon system has been my primary choice for more than forty years, and these days I use it exclusively.
